High school drop-out at the age of 16, British designer of the year at 27 and tragically taken away from us at 40: enfant terrible slash iconic designer Alexander McQueen lived fast and died young.

His legacy will continue on as we will never forget the dark fantasies he offered us with each collection.

The human chessgame runwayshow, the bumster, his use of double amputee Aimee Mullins as a mode...it all served to grant him immortal status. His House now falls under the supervision of the late McQueen's personal assistant Sarah Burton, who has already offered us proof of her designing chops by creating the dress of the decade for Kate Middleton's Royal Wedding. Burton shares her love for intricate designs and dramatic romance with her predecessor, but sets her designs apart by using a softer approach high on femininity.
