Jil Sander

German label Jil Sander was launched by the designer of the same name in the early seventies, but really became an it-brand during the nineties when she earned a cult following among critics and buyers thanks to her minimalist aesthetic in luxe fabrics. The label stands for quality over quantity, monochrome purity sans excess and allowing the beautiful lines to shine.

Belgian designer Raf Simons maintains these core values but adds some of the conceptual, sculptural creativity he developed during his years as a menswear designer.

Simons keeps his creative juices flowing by being a part time professor at Vienna's University of Applied Arts.
