Dell'Acqua left his eponymous label in 2009, but didn't wait long to make a creative fresh start. Numero Ventuno or Number Twenty-One, as Alessandro Dell'Acqua's new label is called, stands for the designer's birthday and lucky number.

His new line seems to evoke some of his earlier work by bringing minimalistic silhouettes in predominantly neutral shades and keeping the delicate balance between sexy and classy, but he does add some color punches and laid back edge to his new designs. Dell'Acqua designs for strong women: the man says he is mostly inspired by Italy's silver screen sirens and used to end every one of his fashionshows with Pat Benatar's Love is a Battlefield.
