Unify network management across multi-vendor platforms

As multimedia becomes more prevalent and networking becomes more complex, enterprises are challenged to unify network management across multiple types of traffic. ACTView is designed to manage the entire line of NetPerformer multi-service convergence solutions, with tools that help you monitor telephony and data traffic, configure nodes and expansion cards, upgrade software, configure systems, view maps, call detail records and management reports, and monitor the health of your overall network.

Through the use of the industry-standard HP OpenView® application, ACTView also allows you to unify network management across multi-vendor platforms. Thus, the combination of ACTView 3000 and HP OpenView leads to a cohesive and consolidated management environment.

Easy to use, easy to manage

ACTView allows network managers to easily configure and monitor any device or expansion card in the network. Managing the converged voice and data network is easier with the fully featured point-and-click graphical user interface. There is even a copy function for port/slot configuration. Moreover, the same interface can be used independently of the HP OpenView® platform.

Supports industry standards

ACTView 3000 is an advanced GUI that uses the industry-standard HP OpenView® Workgroup Node Manager for Windows 95 or HP OpenView Network Node Manager for Windows NT/2000 and Unix Sun Solaris as its NMS platform. This design enables the user to manage virtually any other platform from a single network management station, avoiding redundancies in network management and the costs associated with multiple NMS platforms.

Enables highly flexible views and reports

Create custom views and reports with the user-configurable graphic display of node statistics, including thresholds. Take full advantage of the robust performance baseline monitoring of telephony, LAN, SNA and legacy data and WAN traffic offered on ACTView 3000.

Offers tools for proactive network management

ACTView's fully featured traps and alarms help you proactively manage and troubleshoot network problems by receiving attention- focusing alarms delivered from NetPerformer units to ACTView on the HP OpenView platform.

Minimizes dedicated resource requirements

Your network management resources can focus on missioncritical tasks without being tied to a workstation. New software upgrades and changes are more convenient with scheduled or on-demand automatic downloads/uploads.

Collects critical call detail information

ACTView collects call accounting information including information about the source, destination, date, time and duration of each call, either automatically, on-schedule, or on-demand, and maintains it in a log file. This information can be exported into many different formats for use with call accounting and billing applications.

Scales as your business grows

ACTView 3000 is ideal for enterprise networks of all sizes. The size of the managed network is only dependent on the maximum number of nodes supported by the HP OpenView platform because incremental licenses can be added to expand capability as the network grows.
