NetPerformer Installation Configuration Management Training

Course Objectives
Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:

• Install and startup NetPerformers in a network environment
• Specify parameters applicable to different network configurations and configure NetPerformers
• Use network management features and command lines to diagnose installation problems
• Use ACTview 3000 to display and modify network configurations

Course Methodology
In this course, the instructor will not be providing all the information at first.  At the opposite, he will allow the participants to discover the learning elements by themselves.  It means that the instructor will teach in a very interactive manner.  He will be asking many questions and he will allow enough time for the participants to work to find the answers by themselves.  Actually, we retain only 10% of what we ear but we retain 90% of what we do. 

During the practical activities, which constitute the most important portion of the course, no formal instructions will be given.  The instructor will provide the activity objectives and general guidelines.  The participants will then be asked to use the documentation and to discover by themselves how to get to the target results.  Making error is part of this process, so the participants do not have to be afraid of a “trial and error” approach.  This is all part of this learning process. 

Throughout the course, the instructor will be acting more as a coach rather than a typical course leader.  After each practical activity, the instructor will gather and consolidate the new information and make sure that the modules objectives are met.

Logistics
Lunch will be provided at Verso Technologies facility and is included in the training charges. The course begins at 9:00 am and ends at 5:00 pm.  Lunch is between 12:00 and 1:00 pm

You should be flying in to Montreal Trudeau airport located about 18 miles (29 km) from our offices. We are on the south shore suburb of Montreal. The recommended hotel is on a main boulevard near our offices with a good variety of restaurants and shopping malls. Another recommended hotel is located in downtown Montreal area, about 20-30 minutes drive to our location. In either cases, a rental car is highly recommended; we could provide emails of other attendees if you want to arrange for a carpool.

Directions to Quality Inn & Suites, Brossard From Dorval Airport (Montreal)

1. Take highway 20 Est (East) toward Montréal Centre-Ville (Downtown).
2. On the 20 Est (East), take Exit Pont Champlain (Champlain Bridge).
3. Once you have crossed the bridge, take Exit # 8 Est (East) Boulevard Taschereau (Blvd) Ouest (West) Laprairie, turning left at the traffic light.
4. On Taschereau Blvd, drive to next traffic light after the underpass and turn left on PANAMA street (Burger King). Turn right a t the first traffic light on Panama, cross the parking toward Burger King, you will see hotel entrance on your right side.

1. Exit hotel on Taschereau Blvd (turning right), follow 134 Ouest (West) Laprairie for 4 KM until Matte Blvd.
