Stone Island was founded in 1982 in Ravarino by Massimo Osti, on a simple method: fabric first, treatment second, garment third. Ghost arrived in 2011 as the purest form of that idea. One colour per piece, no exceptions; the compass badge dyed to blend in rather than stand out.
No Second Colour
Most collections use colour to organise information: this panel, that trim, this pocket. Ghost removes the tool entirely. The palette stays deliberately narrow: black, navy, military green and beige, across coats and jackets, knitwear, overshirts, trousers and polos. Whichever shade you choose, nothing here needs a second colour to make its point.
The Outerwear
This is where the research turns into something you can actually feel. The coach jacket with a sprayed rubberised finish takes a familiar silhouette and gives it a technical, almost industrial surface. The padded coach jacket with anti-drop and the windproof and breathable coach jacket explore the same approach through different weights and levels of protection, designed to withstand the elements without compromising on form. The overshirt with chest pocket takes a quieter approach, combining everyday functionality with wind and rain protection without a visible technical finish.
Knitwear & Trousers
This is the one place Ghost lets its guard down slightly, and still doesn't break the rule. A crewneck jumper with ribbed trims and a polo collar jumper with button closure give the collection its gentlest layer, cut with the same precision as the outerwear worn over them. Below, chino trousers and loose-fit joggers with elasticated cuffs keep the utilitarian thread running through to the ankle.
Worn in one shade, head to toe, the individual pieces disappear into the idea behind them. What's left is research, not an outfit.
